CMM Inspection
Summit has recently invested in expanding its CMM department. They now have 5 manual CMM arms completing work ranging from validation reports for each gauge or checking fixture produced by Summit to capability studies on Aerospace casting. They also have 2 fully automated CMM arms and 1 automated bridge CMM for the measurement and validation of car interior parts and castings. Measurement size capability is from IP centre consoles down to smallest door liner trim. Summit offer a full on or offsite scanning facility using a portable scanning arm. Summit also has 30 years experience in delivering Blue Line dimensional checks and full FAIR validation on Aerospace, Marine and MOD castings.
The inspection department currently offers the following:
- CMM measurement up to a measuring envelope 6000mm X 3000mm X 1800mm
- Programmable for multi-part inspection for speed and comparison checking
- The machines have a manual indexing, Renishaw probing head with a TP20 probe sensor to allow full flexibility when measuring
- Utilization of Power inspect and PC-DMIS measuring software that will measure several formats of 2D and 3D data including IGES and CATIA
- The software allows users to create customised reports
- Fully flexible digitising and scanning facility
- Capacity for reverse engineering
- Highly secure and isolated location of studio to allow complete confidentiality
- Spacious studio and experienced staff to deliver fast inspection
- R Studies
